The first Empyrean completed. One of many to follow.

5 01 2011

It’s been a long time since the last post, but that’s the nature of Abyssea, nothing truly spectacular to report on, and the rewards are in quantifiable bits, rather than that one rare Abjuration that finally dropped. So alas, there is no real point in reporting “X many coins of Ardor dropped, whoopie” however, finally something worthy of mention has happened. The honor of the first Empyrean weapon completed belongs to yours truly. Through much toil, and strong camaraderie, the Empryrean Greatsword, Caladbolg, has been given a new home. To those special few who helped the most, Alaistair, Milie, and Tempelshine, I extend my dearest measure of gratitude. To the countless others who helped as well, I too wish to thank you.

With many other Empyreans progressing, who knows which of us will be endowed with the power to beat the living shit out of imaginary creatures? Only time will tell.

What the Fuck?

Seriously, what the fuck is this shit?

Rest easy, sweet prince.

Absolute Virtue has finally been Vanquished. I don’t know what more to say, while it certainly isn’t unprecedented, or particularly impressive on any other level but a managerial one, it still offers a great deal of closure to all who witnessed it. I’m not here to stroke our ego (Well, technically I am, but my blog, my rules bitch) so I’m not going to talk about how ‘azome’ we are for being able to basically kill something while Invincible, but what I will say, is great job to all participants, you earned your victory.

Moving on to less interesting, but more groundbreaking news, Abyssea continues to be the center of activity for almost all of FFXI. It’s a double-edged sword, of sorts. At the good end, you have fun content, and great loot, at the other, you have the forsaken and irrelevant game left behind by Abyssea. It is quite a strange position to be in, but perhaps SE intended this as a way to maintain both FFXIV and FFXI players’ simultaneous accounts, who is to say? Anyway, here’s the most noteworthy kills of our time in Abyssea.

Abyssea: The Story so Far.

8 08 2010

Yes, Abyssea is a hit, not just with Endgame people, but with the FFXI community as a whole.  Ease of entry, amazing spoils and interesting encounters all make Abyssea the funnest Battle-Oriented FFXI Activity to date. Here’s just a taste of what we’ve got.

Also, in a shocking turn of Events, Nidhogg was actually generous, instead of his standard, Trolly, MBody/NLegs spamming self. Just when you think you got it figured out…

Updates: Where?

29 07 2010

Long story short. Abyssea is Serious business. Drops are too plentiful to want to spam them constantly, but rest assured, when something really noteworthy happens, It’ll be here!

The Early Bird catches the Wyrm, indeed.

Hopefully Exeter learned his lesson. FFXI and Sleep cannot coexist.

In lighter news, we still haven’t got a Yilbegan Ring to drop in about 40 pops. Not surprising in the least, but no less infuriating. But some of the TIII’s are opening themselves up and allowing their fruits to be enjoyed. Some of the latest:

And of course, nobody bothered to take a screenshot, but Fatty (Exeter) obtained the Aquarian Abjuration: Body from a recent Nidhogg battle, for all the use it will be to a Black Mage he is never on.  Luckily, in light of not having a Screenshot, you will be treated to my amazing artist’s rendition of the glorious battle. Behold!

As always, check your corners, and keep your powder dry.

Forgive the telegraph inspired title, I’ve been playing Red Dead Redemption a little too much. But yes, it seems, just in time for the new update, VNM’s have finally been “Figured out”, though what exactly that means is up for debate. We have acknowledged now that there is a correlation between VNM’s that have Shadows, and a boost in drop rates (Particularly rings and Elemental Ores) yet even with this revelation, the VNM system is still a perversion of game design, particularly with regards to Yilbegan.

Still, we manage, The 5th ring added to the Linkshell Arsenal (Whoopity shit amirite?) but more importantly, members are closing in on completing the extremely powerful “Occasionally Attacks Twice” Powerhouse weapons. The first (not counting solo’d Krabkatoas) being the Punisher axe made from 10 Baby Blodingnags, for lolbst Zicdeh. I Just so happen to have a picture from that Moment of Triumph:

And here it is equipped!

And of course, the ring we (Or I mean Freonski, but do I even have to specify any more?) got!

Duo Krabkatoa spoils:

Well, that should do it for this post. The Update is looming just around the corner, so expect some good posts when the Abyssea zone and Walk of Echo’s is released. Also, a message to my fellow linkshell mates along those regards:
